The crabs are delicious, and the folks situated from the seasides are aware of that. When people from any corner of the world have a taste of the delicious meals of the crabs, they feel like to move to the sea or even on other countries. It is cheaper to prepare you own meals from the crabs since the crabs can be found rather than eating from the restaurants. You just need the meat and the recipe, and you are good to go.
You should choose where to purchase the crabs. It might be a store that sells the crabs, and some restaurants can have a part where they sell the crabs, and even nowadays there is online way of purchasing the crabs.
Whenever you purchase a crab; you should ensure that the crab is alive. The crab being purchased should show that it is full of life although it is not a must for it to be aggressive. If you buy a dead crab, the meat might have spoilt even before you reach to your house. Whenever a crab dies its meat spoils quicker. The loss of buying the crabs and having the spoilt meats are bumped into whenever someone buys dead crab. If you want to make sure they are alive then you can poke them with a stick.
You should purchase the big in size crabs. The bigger the size of the crab the more the meat you will get. A crab which has five inches in width should be purchased if you want to get much meat from it. You should consider buying the male crab which is full of meat. The male club has a pointing plate whereas the female crab’s place is in form of triangle thus differentiated.
Before you purchase the crab you should check their maturity. If the crab has the hardest shell, the worn-out and flattened claws, then it means that it is mature ready for the next life. The crab which produces much meat is the one which is old and mature. The meat harvested from the young crabs is very less in quantity compared to that of a mature crab, still the shell is very shiny and smooth while the claws are sharp.
You should be aware of storing the crabs. You should buy the crabs which can live out of water since you just have to dip them in the water then remove them. They have some days to live. If you cook a crab, then make sure you serve it within two days to avoid food poisoning.
